We have the pleasure of introducing to you the new service Neptune’s can offer your practice in relation to
Low Carbon Building Design and Part L 2006 compliance assessment and Non Domestic DEC and EPC Certification as required under the current building regulations.
Our leading design engineers are registered
CIBSE Low Carbon Consultants and offer a comprehensive service of assistance in the design of Low to Zero carbon building projects, taking full advantage of the government’s incentive schemes promoting a sustainable future in the building industry.
In addition to the Low Carbon Consultancy, we can now offer advice and assessment of your current, future and on going projects with regard to the implications of
Building Regulations Part L 2006 compliance, together with any DEC and EPC certifications. We have been certified to assess compliance with the use of the industry standard Hevacomp software package. Indeed our registered user has attained the highest qualification possible in the Energy Conservation and Environmental design and can advise on all aspects of this.
If you are planning a new building or the refurbishment of an existing building this will need to conform to the conservation of fuel and power specifications of the
Building Regulations Part L (2006). Employing a Low Carbon Consultant will ensure this and your first point of call in the West Country should be Neptune Building Services Ltd.
Our expertise covers the commercial, domestic, and industrial sectors (e.g. schools, hospitals, offices, factories, warehouses, and workshops) and specific services for historic buildings, project management, façade design. We work hand in hand with Architects practices, Construction companies, M&E contractors and associated design team members, offering pro-active advice, auditable assessments of the Part L impact of any changes proposed, and Building Control Officer’s acceptable methodology of Part L compliance certification.
We would like to have the opportunity of helping you from the inception of a project right through to the re-assessment, for Part L compliance, at the completion of works enabling Building Control authorisation of client occupancy.
We would also like to have the opportunity of preparing your
Display Energy Certificates and Energy Performance Certificates,
(DEC’s and EPC’s).
From the 1st July 2008 all commercial buildings with a total useful floor area greater than 2500m2 whenever they are built, sold or rented out (including sub-letting) require an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) and from the 1st October 2008 all remaining commercial buildings (over 50m2 and with a few exceptions) whenever they are built, sold or rented out (including sub-letting), shall require an Energy Performance Certificate. Also, as of 1st October 2008, all Public buildings over 1000m2, will require a Display Energy Certificate and Advisory Report (DEC), this will include all schools and universities that receive any form of public funding.
One of our Low Carbon Consultants is a fully accredited LCEA (Low Carbon Energy Assessor) through CIBSE which allows us to offer our clients the DEC and EPC certification and Advisory reports services to meet the current legislative deadlines.
Registered low carbon consultants are:
The Low Carbon Consultants certification has been developed by CIBSE to provide the building market with a supply of professionals whose competence in low carbon design and operation has been tested and is registered. Registered consultants advise on both design and operation of commercial buildings to the highest energy efficiency standard and ensure compliance with Part L.
Individuals are tested and approved as competent to advise on and assess Building Regulation Part L (2006) compliance and where necessary surpass it. Developed by the CIBSE and The Carbon Trust organisations, the register offers a competent and independent approach to low carbon design.
All new buildings and major refurbishments are subject to new and challenging energy conservation requirements under Part L of the Building Regulations. Companies throughout England and Wales now need to make sure their building projects comply.
